Topics:

Mentor Marsh Explorations — focus varies with grade level.
All classes investigate the Marsh's wetlands and surrounding habitats and involve collecting field data. This includes both an indoors program with hands-on activity stations and an outdoors field exploration on one of the Nature Preserve trails. This place-based program makes connections with the community and the wetland protection issues.

Invertebrates and Amphibians
Early Spring surveys of the aquatic invertebrates in vernal pools. May include analyzing salamander egg masses, estimating the egg number in each mass and looking at egg viability.

Deer and Wildflowers
Spring surveys using quadrats to investigate effects of deer browsing on plant populations. Focuses on forest ecosystems and using plant identification keys.
